Telling the story of Dutch interior designer and architect Gerrit rietveld.

This project is a visual exploration of the iconic work of Dutch interior designer and architect Gerrit Rietveld, specifically his renowned Red and Blue Chair. Inspired by Rietveld’s commitment to simplicity, functionality, and the principles of De Stijl, I sought to translate his design philosophy into a dynamic, digital experience.

Using 3D modeling and animation, I meticulously recreated the Red and Blue Chair in a virtual space, deconstructing its geometric essence and reconstructing it through motion. The animation begins as an abstract composition of floating shapes—each a fundamental element of Rietveld’s design language. These individual forms gradually interact, shift, and morph, ultimately coming together to reveal the iconic chair.

Through this study, I aimed to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary digital techniques, capturing the essence of Rietveld’s innovative approach while reimagining it in a modern, motion-driven context.
